Full name: Michael A Johnson. Yes, I am aware that Howie is nowhere in there.
Current project (as of 5/11/11): Understudying at Steppenwolf for Middletown.
Upcoming projects: Filming Roundabout American this summer. Also, watch for him in Contagion with Matt Damon this fall.
Hometown: Born and raised on the south side of Chicago, in case you couldn’t tell by listening to me talk.
First theatrical role: Playing an old, fat, female Italian innkeeper and a constable in The Venetian Twins.
Favorite indulgence: A big bag of Popeye’s chicken and onion rings.
Most bad-ass moment: Once won a game of darts against Matt Damon, Steven Soderbergh, Melanie Lynskey, and Joel McHale.
What movie would you want to remake so you could play the lead? Either Die Hard, the best action flick ever, or On The Waterfront.
What’s the one thing you couldn’t live without? Susie, the best wife in the history of wives. I don’t even like being away from her for an hour.
Imaginary buds? Never had an imaginary friend. I always found the imaginary crowd to be a little standoffish.
What’s a song you sing when you think no one is listening? I never stop singing, and I am sure most of the songs are embarrassing.
Earliest acting inspiration? The Three Stooges, geniuses all.
Who’s your acting hero or mentor? Would have never considered acting more then a hobby or a dream if not for Jane Alderman. She was my first on-camera teacher and she got me my agent, called me in for my first audition, and I booked my first job, ER, from that audition.
Favorite color: Deep purple. I also happen to like the band.
Your perfect day? I like hanging out with Susie in the pool, lake, or ocean in the bright sunshine, drinking a beer. Someday, I will be doing that everyday for the rest of my life.
